Join us as we feed our animals fresh fruits and vegetables.

Every Saturday we travel to the Rochester Public Market to pick up a load of fresh fruits and vegetables from an amazing group of people, Flower City Pickers. The Flower City Pickers mission is to feed the hungry and prevent food waste. They support the local community with free food through their recovery and redistribution of safe but otherwise landfill bound food. Food is sorted into three different groups (A) astonishing, (L) Livestock and (C) compost. Grade A is distributed out to local groups to feed the hungry and we receive the Grade L foods.

We are extremely grateful for the amazing people at Flower City Pickers. If you would like to learn more about this amazing organization please visit their website www.flowercitypickers.org

We would also like to thank Fairport Brewing Company for their generous supply of spent grains. The chickens, goats and pigs love the grains that we are able to supply them.

Loading Cows for the first time.... Did not go as planned...

Well... That did not go as planned. Everything that happens on the farm is a learning experience. Though loading these cows did not go as planned, we have learned many valuable lessons. 1st, expect the unexpected. 2nd, anything that can go wrong will, and things you didn't think of will happen.

Loading day is always bittersweet. We have grown these animals for 8 months with love and respect. They will now help feed not only our family but many families in our community. We know how they lived, how they were fed and it allows us to feed our sons the best.
